In autumn 2000, the former poor house was transformed into a museum (Kirchenplatz 2). It invites the visitor to a tour through the history of Herzogenaurach. It illustrates the development of the town from the Middles Ages to the structural change after World War II. Emphasis is laid on the craftsman’s manufacture of textiles, the beginning of the famous sports shoe industry and the rising of the bearing industry as well as on the changing special exhibitions.
