Representative for people with disabilities Gerd Hausmann
The town council chose Gerd Hausmann to be the first voluntary representative of the city of Herzogenaurach for persons with disabilities.
It is the representative's task to ameliorate the participation of persons with disabilities in everyday life. Moreover, he is responsible for establishing understanding for disabled people's interests and issues among the general public. He will adivse the town administration and the town council accordingly. This especially includes creating barrier-free public space and ameliorating the disabled people's situation in public transport. Of course, the city of Herzogenaurach will put a focus on barrier-free public institutions, as well.
Personal counselling by the representative for people with disabilities is not possible (e.g. degree of disability, care level, ...). This is the task of associations for persons with disabilities, e.g. VdK Kreisverband Erlangen – Höchstadt or of the health insurance and long-term care insurance. The representative can give information, however, on whom to contact.
