In his latest show, this ‘London-trained’ double agent of humour explores the question of whether, in the end, Germans aren’t funnier than the English after all. He does so with his usual quick wit, pace and unfailing humour. His debut novel, *There is a God, and She is Bored*, was published by Droemer-Verlag in autumn 2023. For 20 years, the percussion duo DOUBLE DRUMS has been thrilling audiences not only in Germany and across Europe. Alex Glöggler and Philipp Jungk, two trained multi-percussionists, have made a name for themselves with awards such as the prestigious Bavarian Art Promotion Prize. With their programme ‘All you can BEAT’, they transform everyday objects such as rubbish bins, petrol cans and road signs into rousing beats. At the same time, they shed new light on the entire world of percussion instruments, from the vibraphone to the marimba. The programme features their own compositions, as well as global hits such as ‘Enjoy the Silence’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters’, and film scores from ‘Das Boot’ and ‘Star Wars’ in completely new and surprising arrangements.

Amidst her family’s silence, Franka has always felt lost. When she returns to the Franconian countryside in her late twenties, she finally takes a proper look at how things were in the noughties, when Germany wanted to become world champions on home soil. When her father died and she found kindred spirits in Patrick and Janna, who masked their insecurity with rowdiness and their frustration with fistfights. As she delved deeper and deeper into the far-right scene, she began to ask questions and sought to come to terms with the past. Annegret Liepold, a native of Nuremberg, will be visiting Herzogenaurach for a reading and discussion.

Nowak is different, unconventional, a bit eccentric. But that is also what makes her melodies – which blend chanson, pop and indie – so fascinating. The audience is swept away by her energy and charisma. Die Nowak is the stage persona of Rebekka Maier, an artist living in the Regensburg district. Her lyrics focus on socially critical or whimsical observations of everyday life and how she deals with personal setbacks.
