5 The Old Town Hall

The town hall, a conspicuous symbol of municipal autonomy, was also once the location of the court of justice. Bakers and butchers had their stands under the arches of the ground floor. The half-timbered building was built in 1407 and redesigned in baroque style in 1781. It obtained its current appearance between 1939-1941.
