24 doors, sparkling lights and letters to the Christ Child: Enjoy the Advent season in Herzogenaurach with our living Advent calendar and Christmas market, with activities for children and families and musical highlights.
Our town is festively lit; every evening at 7 p.m. a door to the Living Advent Calendar opens on the stage at the market square. This year you will once again find the herzo Weihnachtslädchen in the town center with lots of great, homemade gift ideas and a shopping spree through Herzogenaurach is also worth it.
The Living Advent Calendar
From December 1st, 24 days of anticipation wil be guaranteed by the Living Advent Calendar. Every day at 5.00 pm, the program creates a special Christmas atmosphere on the market square. On December 24th at 12.00 pm.
Christmas Market with After-Work-Glühwein
The long Christmas market weekend in Herzogenaurach begins with the After Work Glühwein on December 4th from 5 p.m. Look forward to Christmas-decorated stalls with beautiful gift ideas for Christmas. Letter to the Christ Child
While everybody is communicating via e-mail these days, the Christ Child is still reading good old-fashioned paper letters: As of November 24th, there will be a mail box waiting for the children‘s wish list letters. This mail box will be emptied for the last time on December 15th. Until then, all post cards and letters are welcome.
Christmas trees in the town center
Under the motto “Together we decorate our town center” this year there will once again be Christmas trees on the main street waiting for Christmas decorations. Whether with friends, family or alone, choose “your” tree and transform it into a beautiful Christmas tree.
Christmas decoration exchange
From November 24th to December 20th a Christmas decoration exchange will take place in the library. Decorations that are no longer used can be handed in to the staff and will then be displayed in the library for swapping or taking away.
herzo Christmas shop
The herzo Christmas shop is coming to Herzogenaurach town centre again this year. It will open its doors at Marktplatz 3 on 20 November, offering handmade decorations and unique gifts to discover. Find out more

Festive Concert

Nativity scene exhibition
On the first, second and third weekends of Advent, the nativity scene exhibition organised by the Krippenfreunde Herzogenaurach (Herzogenaurach Nativity Scene Enthusiasts) can once again be viewed in the Marienkapelle chapel on Kirchenplatz. The exhibition is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
