Urban-Suburban Railroad
On March 31, 2016 the communities of Erlangen, Herzogenaurach and Nuremberg received the official permission from the Minister of the Interior, Joachim Hermann, for the foundation of a corporate body which initially is responsible for the planning of the Urban-Suburban Railroad (StUB): the StUB special purpose association (Zweckverband StUB). As an interurban railroad, the StUB will connect the communities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach.
“With the StUB special purpose association we have the once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect three cities with an ultra-modern public transport system on rails. This will secure outstanding business locations in our globalized world. Herzogenaurach - and indirectly the entire ERH administrative district - will benefit,” says First Mayor Dr. German Hacker.
