The Martinmas Fair in Herzogenaurach has been held here since 1764, and 250 years of frosty autumn weather has done nothing to harm the good atmosphere at this fair. In fact, there is no better way to drive away cold than by enjoying a hot drink or the funfair rides and games like "duck fishing" in the historical town centre. This year it takes place from November 6 to November 9, 2020.
While the attractions in the old days were liquorice, wedding sweeties (known as "firestones") and dried pears, both young and old today can enjoy the fairground, the handicrafts market and the children's programme in the castle courtyard. And, of course, the fair would not be complete without its Martini riding with latern procession on November 9th. It begins at 5 pm at the church yard.
