Ste-Luce-sur-Loire

Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire is the twin town of Herzogenaurach in West France and is located near Nantes, about 50 km away from the Atlantic coast. In former times, the town was characterized by the tradition of the Loire fishermen as well as by the extraction of sand and the cultivation of vegetables. Since the 1980s, the local economy has developed vividly. In 1983, a student exchange between the Collège la Reinetière and the Gymnasium Herzogenaurach was launched. In 1988, the partnership between the two towns was sealed officially. Today, the town has approx. 12,000 inhabitants; the distance between Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire and Herzogenaurach is about 1,150 km.
