Climate protection and energy

The Town of Herzogenaurach aims at the full supply of private households, small enterprises and agriculture with renewable energy. The energy transition concept gives potentials and measures regarding energy, heat and mobility for achieving this aim. Additionally, the Town of Herzogenaurach uses the European Energy Award® in order to realize their energy and climate protection policy.

Climate protection targets of the Town of Herzogenaurach

• Safe energy, increase the energy efficiency of technical devices and processes, and promote renewable energy
• High energetic building standards in order to reduce the energy required for heating, and switching to renewable heating sources
• Creation of a suitable infrastructure and promotion of the local public transport system with regard to increasing the use of bicycles, buses and trains, as well as e-mobility
